Luf
Back by popular request…well, alright, I just wanted to put it up here, but anyhow…it’s an oldie, but a goodie, one that definitely has withstood the test of time…in fact, I think it may be the only one.
)
Luf, my friend, is all you need
to calm that raging sea.
For it’s luf, with the ‘uf
that makes us you and me.
Now I know it’s hard to ‘uf the luf,
but practice & you will
And when you get that ‘uf in luf
ohhh ~~~ so much better will you feel.
That’s all I have to say for now;
remember, luf is true!
So live each day with ‘uf in luf
and luf will you get too.
Ask me sometime to read it to you…the accent is much of the effect on this one.

- A Royal Priesthood & A Baby Blessing A Royal Priesthood President Thomas S. Monson “Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” ~ 1 Peter 2:9 Such an appropriate talk for "a would be king" that…
- Simplicity Storms & struggles Sadness & strife These are but gifts Blessings of life We ride the cycles of happiness and sorrow. With every rotation we learn more of what it is to be human, to have strains, to have challenges, to have difficulties. To recognize that these down times are but part of the whole…
- O Remember, Remember O Remember, Remember by President Henry B. Eyring I've read over President Eyring's talk before and it has really touched me. Again, I've gotten out of the habit of sitting down at the end of the day and writing how I've seen the Lord's hand in my life that day. However, I know that when…
- After All We Can Do After All We Can Do by Elder Claudio D. Zivic I heard a friend ask this last week, "how long must I continue trying so hard?" and quickly thought, well, that's easy to answer; we should do all that we can do for the WHOLE of our mortal lives. That's what life is all about,…
- He is Risen…He is Risen Indeed! I had a great week leading up to Easter today. I enjoyed studying about the last week of our Savior and felt closer to Him as I did so. I often feel the pull of the world and today, to know that through Christ's resurrection I have life was a good feeling. Though I walk…
- Clean Hands and a Pure Heart Clean Hands and a Pure Heart Elder David A. Bednar "The purpose of our mortal journey is not merely to see the sights on earth or to expend our allotment of time on self-centered pursuits; rather, we are to 'walk in newness of life', to become sanctified by yielding our hearts unto God, and to…
- Opening Our Hearts – Elder Gerald N. Lund The Holy Ghost is a precious gift... Do I harden my heart? Then I'll receive LESS of the Lord's word. Do I soften my heart? Then I'll receive MORE of the Lord's word. Responsibilities of the Holy Spirit... comforts, teaches, warns, enlightens and inspires us. It will show unto you ALL things what you should…

What’s “luf”? Is it some kind of treat or a story?
Hmm. I thought that it would be able to be gathered from context. I guess it would help to see me act out it out though. However, I did think that the mere aural similarities between “luf” and another commonly used word would make it understandable outside my silly dramatic interpretation.
I kinda like it when people get to gather their own meaning from what I write…shows me that they care enough to think about it themselves, rather than have it spoon-fed to them.
Seek and ye shall find.
Oh, I love it! Many people often forget the simple truth in that concept. I love the format because it expresses it simply, yet only those whose minds are in the right thought pattern understand.
Definitely a goodie.
Allie, thanks!! I too like it because of it’s simplicity. It came at an important time of my life and in response to thinking about a loved one’s trials. Feel free to spread it around.
